Monastery at Mt. Carmel 7-9-13

Nick got a scapular when he was at St. Rose that he wears daily.  It is falling apart.  On the reverse side of it, it has where it was made.  You guessed it, Mt. Carmel.  He was intent on replacing it with one just like it.  We made the trek up the mountain and found the monastery and went into the small church there.  The view from the rooftop was spectacular.  You could see all the way to the Mediterranean Sea on one side and on the other side you could see and hear the very near Israeli Air Force Base.  Jets were taking off over our heads.  We were hoping they were just out for a fun day of flying!  They are loud and fast!!
Nick was successful in his quest for the exact scapular and our guide was quite impressed.  He did not think the gift shop had them.
