Arrived Jerusalem 7-9-13

We arrived in Jerusalem late afternoon.  We hit the 5:00pm traffic and that held us up a bit.  By the time we got to our hotel we were all tired but still hungry.  We walked a short distance from the hotel and ate at a Kosher dairy Italian restaurant.  Cheese pizza, pasta and salad.  No meat.

Jerusalem looks NOTHING like the Jerusalem I had imagined.  A big surprise.  There was a mandate for the city that ALL building had to be made of the same white limestone.  EVERY building here is white.  All very beautiful  The city is clean and brilliant white.  The giant Jewish cemetery below Mt. Olives is a vision of all white headstones.  It is really beautiful  Anyone that saw Schindler's List should know that this is the cemetery where Mr. Schindler is buried.

We are leaving early in the morning for our trip to Bethlehem.
