Church of the Primacy 7-8-13

"On this rock you will build my church", Jesus said these words to Peter.  Peter became the first Pope.  The site where this happened is beautiful.  There are gardens you walk through on the way to the waters edge.  The church is very small, maybe only 100 people elbow to elbow would fit inside.  The altar is small and in front of the altar a large rock that the church was built around basically.  You cannot access the altar without going around the large rock.  The windows in this church were glorious in color.  Very brilliant color and the sun was making them even more beautiful.  There were no stories depicted in the windows, just colors of red, purple, blue, yellow...all so beautiful.  Outside the church there is a large statue of Jesus and Peter.  Coming to Israel we wanted to find the birthplace of the Catholic faith, we found it today.
