VALENCIA, SPAIN
Valencia has been fiercely contested ever since it was founded by the Greeks. El Cid captured Valencia from the Moors in 1094 and won his strangest victory here in 1099. He died in the battle, but his corpse was strapped to his saddle and it frightened the waiting Moors so much that it caused their defeat. You can rent this movie El Cid, in your local movie rental places and see this first hand!! It is a great movie. We spent the day touring the NEW Valencia. Valencia will be the host of the 2007 America's Cup. Most of the structures you will see here were built for this happening. It was amazing. We had the opportunity to go listen to a former helmsman of the America's Cup, Mr. Andy Green, and he was very informative and entertaining. Nicholas got his autograph.
