Cairo, Egypt Part II Finally, today is 4/17/07

The sandstorm was raging at over 30 MPH, so the kids were doing their best to act like it was fun. We had sand in our hair, ears and teeth! If you have been to San antonio to see the Alamo, you may have the same experience if you come to the Valley of the Kings.
You can see the pyramids from the bus!!

They try to sell you everything when you get there!! Family photo at the pyramids!
A nice caravan of camels!!

Kathleen wanted to make sure this big camel did not stand up. She has had enough of camels to know that they can have a mind of their own!

Going down in the "hole" to see the tomb in the pyramid. Charles would not go. You basically had to crawl through tunnels for about 70 yards until you go to a place you could stand up.
Necklaces for sale!! Nicely diplayed on rocks right outside the pyramid!!
Look how old this is!!!

Kathleen and the camel policeman. They were everywhere. There will not be anymore Muslims stealing marble to build mosques these days!!

Sand storm!!!!
Kathleen with Ramses II...goofing off. This guy had 200 children.

This gal was on a team to preserve the pyramids. They work with toothbrush size tools as not to distrub the authenticity.
Water gal on a donley!

This is where the term "run off" has to come from. This is where the staging area was for the two guys that were "up" for Pharaoh had to run from one spot to another. The winner became the next Pharaoh! Our guide said she felt like it was staged but still happened.

Waiting and listening to the guide.

Here we go again...will you buy this???? The closest I got to a cobra was in this box. The man said he would get in big trouble if he took it out! I know I heard it in there!!
Kathleen at Ramses II, this guy was missing a head, she provided one.

Ramses II!!! He was big!!!!

See, you really can do a drive thru of the pyramids!
