Alexandria, Egypt Posted 4/17/07

Alexandria, the second largest city in Egypt, known as the "Pearl of the Mediterranean". Alexandria was founded by Alexander the Great, hence the name, Alexandria. This was in 331BC!! We toured some of the remains of ancient Alexandria. This site, is as well in a downtown area. It was found when some building were under construction. Today, there could be many more but they do not want to displace millions of people looking for relics and treasures!!!

Palm trees and carriage rides are a pleasant site in Alexandria.
The ancient amphitheatre. Kathleen and Nicholas decided to perform!! The seats were not very comfortable...slabs of stone!

City streets in Alexandria. Very narrow, laundry out to dry. A picture of a Muslim woman crossing the street, grocery list in hand!!
