FORTALEZA BY NIGHT AND DAY

Mary and Kathleen getting ready for chicken hearts.

They bring meat to table and cut it off skewer with those big knives.

Stalls went forever! It was like Santuck, only add about 2.5 million people and stalls. They really know how to have a flea market.
I thought I'd be smart and go back at daylight(they don't open until dark). If you were hoping I'd bring you a beautiful linen tablecloth from Forteleza you are out of luck! I'll try again somewhere.
Our jewelry friends Eduardo and Leonardo took us to a what they call a Bar B Q restaurant. Nothing like Dreamland. It was much like the restaurant in Vestavia that closed called Brazil.
Now I understand why they served so much meat there. We all were shocked at how good it was. Kathleen tried almost everything. She and I even tried the chicken hearts. Yikes! Not Great.
You put the green side up and the red side down to to start with. As long as the green side is up
they keep bringing the food (and they really bring it). When you are stuffed and can not eat another bite, you turn the red side up. And then they start bringing the desserts. We really overate.
We took a tour into Forteleza to the Ballet today. It was all children in the cast who had been rescuced from the slums. The storyline was of children in the slums of Brazil. Their dancing and athleticism was tremendous. There was a lot of drum beating like in Africa.
After the Ballet they served "snacks" and some sort of lime-aid that our British friends said was terrible, so we passed.
Got back to the ship and set sail around 3 for Salvador de Bahia, Brazil. Have a whole day at sea tomorrow and arrive Sat. a.m.
It is hot here! Sitting on deck you can feel yourself getting sunburned.
